I've been told that some people are born organized, I wasn't one of them. I was born daydreaming.
However, I discovered I didn't have to be born organized to be organized. I didn't have to stop being a "daydreamer" either.
I just needed to find ways to structure my life so that my daydreaming tendencies didn't interfere with my responsibilities.
Today, when I share the expertise I've collected from books, mentors, personal experience, and working with clients, I come alongside as a companion guide.
I coach, consult, and facilitate the process. I hold the door open for you to take positive action and make progress toward reaching your goals and creating the space you love to call home.
Like many of us, I was overwhelmed by too much: too many choices, too many decisions, too many activities on my calendar, too much stuff. I knew I needed to do something differently. But what?
Organizing Principles Can Be Learned!
In college I took classes on how to study more effectively. Later, I discovered books on how to run a household; I also asked other busy women how they managed their lives.
The concepts I learned were simple, but not always easy for me to put into practice. My challenge was I didn't know how to translate or adapt basic organizing principles to fit my unique bents and circumstances, especially when I was already feeling overwhelmed or working alone.
A Journey that Transforms!
I needed a personal structure that worked for me for getting things done that mattered to me.
During my journey, I learned becoming more organized required an element or self-discipline and a willingness to change, but that didn't mean I had to be rigid or militaristic to live an organized life. I also learned it takes some time and effort to develop new habits and skills.
Real Change Doesn't Happen by Chance!
Working with clients over the years has taught me real change doesn't happen by chance or by reading a book. Real change happens when we become the book. It's about making decisions, taking action, and following through on the littlest things in life. It's about being aware of what we have, who we are and where we want to go.
Sharing the journey
One of the things I love most about what I do today is collecting ideas and creative solutions that increase productivity, reduce stress, and help me manage my time, space, and activities more effectively. I get to practice and apply what I learn to my own life first, and then come alongside to share the journey with others.
Inspiration and encouragement!
Why do I do what I do? I want to give back to others what I've been given: the inspiration and encouragement to let go of the things that are no longer needed and not actively contributing to my life today. I have the opportunity to do this when I work side-by-side with my clients and when I'm sharing the "ins and outs" of organizing in a larger group setting.
